Nestled among the rolling, picturesque hills of Ohio’s Amish countryside is Der Marktplatz. This is the home of Breitenbach Wine Cellars, exclusive producer of an extensive array of award-winning grape, fresh fruit, and berry wines and Dandelion wine.
Dining is open, we offer seating in several areas including our inside tables, tents and patio tables with umbrellas and seating in the Winemakers Barn.
Our wines are made on the premises, and visitors are invited to enjoy a winery tour during our Dandelion May-Fest held the first Saturday of May.
From festivals, to 5Ks, to concerts under the stars, there’s always something going on at Breitenbach.
Every year, the hills of Amish Country turn a delightful shade of yellow when the dandelions go into full bloom. We harvest and celebrate them annually at the Breitenbach Dandelion Festival the first weekend in May. We have family-friendly fun, food, and Dandelion Wine!

I order from them a couple of times a year and their customer service is just wonderful . There was a little mix up on my last order and they overnighted my wine . Would recommend them to anyone looking for a great product !,Posted on Tom DiethrichTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fun place! We are in our fifties and stopped here for a wine tasting. Decor was unique, comfortable, and very clean. Wines were unique, and mostly sweet. We visited on a Monday in the late afternoon and it was not crowded at all. Staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable.Posted on xCOWBOY77xTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I always thought I hated wine, until I happened to be in the area, saw a picture of the place .. and had to see it in person. After sampling some of their wine, I found out, I'm a Breitenbach fan ...not a wine fan. There are few other wines (and I've tried) that I like even remotely as much. Even met the owner, and he remembered me a year later when I returned!!! When attempting to branch out my wine pallet, I went to the Andersons (who carried 6500 labels) and told them "I found out I'm a sweet wine fan, what would you suggest? " his response was "I can't suggest unless I know what you've had" when I told him "Breitenbach " he answered "stop right there, you've ruined any other sweet fruit wine, Breitenbach makes THEE BEST sweet fruit wine you're gonna find". That was 5 years ago, and I still haven't found better!! EDIT: it has now been 7 years, and I still have not found a wine I prefer over Breitenbach, and to this day mention it to ANY wine drinker I come across!Posted on Laura FaloticoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mindy / Anita, Thank you for your excellent conversation and the delicious wine. We really enjoyed talking to you both and hope to see you both again. Your grounds are very nice and this was an easy trip off 39NW. We are pleased with the time we were able to spend here! Stepping into this winery is an experience in pure relaxation; the quiet and serene atmosphere encourages you to slow down and truly savor the moment. This winery is one of a few businesses in the area that are open on Sundays which is a great bonus. We started our visit by sampling a few wines before settling on a bottle of their delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. We also ordered some of their delightful flatbreads, which were a perfect complement to the wine. My husband enjoyed a wonderful wine tour led by the founder's grandson, who shared the history of this true family business with passion. You can feel the love and care put into every aspect of the winery. We were made to feel like part of the family, and we left feeling completely rejuvenated.
